Peggy Coakley - President & Chief Executive Officer
Peggy represents the 4th generation of leadership for Coakley Brothers, a local moving company that has been servicing the Milwaukee area since 1888. Peggy has been successfully leading Coakley Brothers since she was named President and CEO in 1998. Since then, she has continued the long standing tradition of providing the very best in class residential and commercial moving services to the households and businesses in the Metro-Milwaukee area.
In addition, Coakley Brothers also offers Warehousing, Office Furniture Systems Installation, Logistics, and other Specialty Services. Peggy is known as a forward thinker, therefore it comes as no surprise that she has expanded Coakley Brothers brand into other areas of the state such as Madison Wisconsin.
She has also successfully started 4 other businesses. Datastore, a records retention company which was sold to Iron Mountain in 2012. Coakley Tech, a printing company that provided technical publication distribution services to the Milwaukee area was sold in 2007 after 25 successful years in business under the Coakley Brothers umbrella of businesses.
In 2008, Peggy co-founded OMA (Office Moving Alliance) a nationally recognized moving industry consortium. OMA members are based solely by invitation only to companies that possess the very best in service on a global scale.
Brothers Business Interiors launched in 2012, focuses on office furniture and space planning and design. Stadium Self Storage launched in 2013, offers residents of Milwaukee a premier climate controlled self-storage facility. Both of these business continue to flourish under Peggy’s leadership.
Joe Lindahl - Chief Financial Officer
Joe joined Coakley Brothers Moving and Storage as the CFO in July 2008 after a long standing business relationship as a tax advisor with the President and CEO of Coakley Brothers, Peggy Coakley. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. Shortly after obtaining his degree, he studied for and obtained his CPA license. Joe continually participates in ongoing tax and accounting education, keeping him current on tax law changes and new developments in the accounting industry.
Prior to his career here at Coakley Brothers, he spent 18 years as a CFO in various industries including: manufacturing, wholesale, service, moving, trucking and construction. He has also had over 8 years’ experience in public accounting. His wealth of experience in working with all these different fields gives him a unique perspective on what our clients’ needs are. This knowledge helps our employees anticipate those needs that our customers have, thus allowing for successful residential and commercial moves, furniture installations, warehousing and logistical needs that they may have.
Joe is responsible for overseeing the Human Resources, Accounting and Information Technology department. He continually looks for improving efficiencies within the company, and investing in the latest technology to give our crew of professional movers and their support staff the tools they need to provide our customers with the very best moving experience possible.
John Regent-Smith - Executive Vice President
John joined Coakley Brothers in 1979 working part time in the Mover Commercial Moving division. Following graduation from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee with a degree in Economics he joined our staff full time in 1984. He quickly earned the respect of the management, coworkers and customers advancing as a professional driver with our Residential Moving division.
His expertise and passion for commercial relocation allowed him to advance and become a lead man for all of the major corporate relocations Coakley Brothers performed. Promoted from the field to Project Manager in 1997 he acted as a liaison between customers, operations and sales for jobs throughout the Milwaukee and Wisconsin areas. His expertise in the commercial relocation field took him to jobs in Illinois, Iowa and Indiana.
In 1998 John became the Installation division manager and oversaw the growth of our install services for two years. In 2000 he was appointed vice president of operations to oversee and manage our operations across the Logistics, Commercial Relocation, Furniture Installations and Warehousing divisions. In 2007 he was appointed executive vice president expanding his role with the company yet again.
Today John plays a vital role in client development, teaching, and training sales staff and field personnel while maintaining many of our key relationships with customers.
Moving with a “Diamond Class” perspective to improve performance is a continuous focus of one of our longest tenured employees.
John has been married for 31 years and has 3 grown children of which one is a teacher, one a civil engineer, and one studying to be an orthopedic surgeon. In his free time John enjoys woodworking, playing music, attending high school and college sporting events, and spending time with his family.
Mary Edwards - Vice President Commercial Sales
Mary Edwards currently serves as the Vice President of Commercial Sales for Coakley Brothers. After graduating from SIU in Carbondale, IL, with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Ms. Edward’s sales career began in Washington D.C. working for an ABC Cap Cities radio station special events department then on to business development and marketing for an equipment rental company. Relocating to Atlanta, Mary worked for telecommunications giant MCI and
then for a Silicon Valley, high tech software solution company.
Returning to her home state in 2000, Mary joined Coakley Brothers Moving and Storage as a commercial relocation consultant. In 2006, Mary was promoted to her current position due to her strength in managing, communicating and training others. Today, Mary’s team has grown to five and they are constantly challenged to raise the bar to understand their customer’s needs and to be responsive and transparent for all the services they sell - commercial moving, warehousing and distribution, furniture installation, space planning and design and new furniture sales.
Coakley Brothers is a founding member of OMA and Mary’s active involvement in the organization including currently serving as a board member and active on the sales and marketing committee, dates back to 2007.
Kevin Kaufmann - Vice President Residential Relocation
Kevin has been in the household relocation industry since 1985. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and then accepted a position with a young and diverse moving company in SE Wisconsin. Kevin’s focus was to grow their newest division, residential moving and storage. Under his leadership they became an agent for a major national van line and earned that moving company’s highest “Quality Service” award year after year.
After the owners retired and closed their moving company Kevin brought his knowledge and expertise to Coakley Brothers, one of Milwaukee’s most recognized movers whom have been in business since 1888. He now manages all aspects of residential local, long distance and international relocation services. Under his direction Coakley Brothers has become one of Wisconsin’s largest residential moving companies serving Milwaukee and Madison and all point inbetween. Kevin attributes Coakley Brothers’ unwavering commitment to quality service as the primary driver behind the sustained growth year after year.

Tom Sullivan - Vice President Installations & Warehousing
Tom joined Coakley Brothers Company in 1998 by taking on a role for the warehousing division. His role quickly evolved in conjunction with the creation of the Furniture Installations Division in 1998, which was a natural evolution of growth from our long established core competency of commercial moving.
With the significant increase of new office furniture that was being received for warehouse storage and eventual distribution, resulting from the rapid growth of the Installations Division, his growth continued to evolve when the role of installations dispatcher was added to his responsibilities.
As installations dispatcher, he maintained oversight of the warehousing logistics and product distribution for the Installations Division but was now also directly overseeing the 20+ field installers who with their unique and specialized skill sets were now working together with our commercial movers. This direct oversight incorporated all elements of scheduling, project management, and customer service in support of the established goal to provide the very best installation services to clients throughout the region already accustomed to excellence in the commercial move service support provided by Coakley Brothers.
Promoted to Manager of the Installations Division, he was now additionally charged with promoting, developing and growing the installation services Coakley Brothers offered too both new and existing clients. Account management, Project management, quoting, financial oversight, and management of operations and staff for the division equally expanded.
Services like refabricating of panels and both panel and chair cleaning were instituted. Additionally both warehousing and facility management support opportunities continued to evolve and grow as installers were now being placed and utilized in these roles for clients.
Promoted to Vice-President of both the Installation and Warehousing divisions, things have come full circle as Tom now incorporates both aspects of his warehousing and installations expertise obtained throughout his career with Coakley Brothers. Coakley Brothers warehousing has successfully incorporated all standards for the warehousing and storage industry to include utilization of software for inventory management, and a logistics division to support large scale distributions across all industries.
Coakley Brothers Installations Division has grown as well. Our installation team now has boots on the ground throughout southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois fulfilling roles in support of both facility management and installation services. Our service offerings and implementation of them are first in class.
Meredith Gregory, PHR, SHRM-CP - Human Resources Manager
Meredith joined Coakley Brothers Company in 2015 and brought with her over 10 years of Human Resource experience. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Human Resources Management. Her prior work experience was with multiple industries including retail, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, and professional services.
She has a broad generalist experience and has handled all the Human Resource functions for these organizations. Her responsibilities at Coakley Brothers Company include benefit administration, compensation, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations. Meredith earned her PHR (Professional in Human Resources) in 2012 and her SHRM-CP (Society of Human Resource Management-Certified Professional) in 2015.
